ABOUT IDEAWAVE

We are a creative communications firm located in Portland, Oregon.
We have fun producing idea-driven, problem-solving design for our clients.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Our business focus has traditionally emphasized projects for education-related clients. The firm has retained that profile, while further expanding into corporate and other organization-related marketing and communications. In addition to producing effective design and creative communications, we specialize in building close relationships with our clients and a serious commitment to understanding and helping them to achieve their goals.

DON WOODWARD / CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Born in Seattle, Don studied design and photography at Oregon State University. He has been producing professional design and communications since the 1980’s. Don is nationally recognized for his design work and leadership capabilities. In his role as creative director, Don serves as lead designer and project manager, directly producing content and leading the contributions of associate creative professionals when a project-team approach is taken.

EXPERTISE

We think DESIGN is ultimately built upon solid ideas that clarify the client's message in a way that connects squarely with their target audience. To achieve that result, Ideawave believes that research is everything. We begin by listening well to our clients about who they are and where they want to go. We evaluate the competition and consider everything in the light of current trends. Brand strategies and concepts are then developed in close collaboration with the client. After all those stages are explored, the visual process begins.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Worth a thousand words, the strong visual image is at the heart of everything we do. Don Woodward studied fine art photography at Oregon State University with Harrison Branch. We’ve worked with some of the best photo journalists and product photographers, including Phil Schofield, Jerome Hart, Geoffrey Nilsen, Tom Hassler and others. Our images are powerful and distinctive. Let our camera help you tell your best story.

 

 

VIDEO

Film and video isn’t just for the big screen. Its also for your customer’s smartphone and everywhere in between. Motion graphics move people. In a world where You Tube and Vimeo is the meeting place for millions, video is an increasingly viable option to help you tell your story. It doesn’t hurt when your creative director is also an experienced musician. We know what sounds good and we know how to produce it. With both on-site and mobile recording capabilities, Ideawave has the ability to create the killer soundtrack to your next multimedia project. Even if the assignment is as simple as a voice-over narrative, we’ll make certain that the words connect with clarity and resonance.
